Winter '27

Focuses on housekeeping and security, with a few handy Flow, reporting and Agentforce upgrades along the way.

Salesforce's Winter '27 release notes are here, and this one leans more towards housekeeping and security than flashy new features. Still, there's a handful of useful changes for your team this time round. As with every major release, there are also mandatory updates happening behind the scenes: as a Fluent Care subscriber, we've already reviewed these and they'll be applied to your org as part of the rollout.

What we think matters most

Less tab-switching in reports and list views

Admins and users can now preview record details from a Lightning report without leaving the page (beta), and inline editing on list views now works across multiple record types too, so there's less need to jump between screens to get things done. Joined reports also pick up a "Common Rows Only" option (beta, ask us to switch it on), which filters a joined report down to just the records appearing in every block — an Accounts and Opportunities report can show only Accounts with an active Opportunity, instead of everything regardless of overlap.

Flow Tags, for a tidier flow list

Flow Tags let you organise and find your flows more easily as your org's flow list grows. This is particularly helpful for anyone using Marketing Cloud, where flows are the backbone of your automations and that list can get long fast.

Setup, with a natural-language assist

Salesforce continues building out Agentforce inside Setup, with natural-language control over Dynamic Actions and related lists, plus customisable org health dashboards.

Guardrails for Agentforce Vibes, built in

If your team uses Agentforce Vibes, your org's AI governance policies are now applied automatically to every session, and end users can't switch them off. One less thing for admins to police.

Tighter, simpler security controls

Field History Tracking for users is now generally available, so changes to a user's own record, including permission and access changes, can be tracked and audited. Profile filtering means users only see their own profile in Setup unless they're specifically granted broader access, and the Setup Audit Trail now has its own dedicated permission rather than a broader one. We'll manage the rollout of any related updates on your org's behalf.

A special mention: Slack's new Surfaces

Outside of this release, Slack has launched Slackforce Surfaces: you can ask Slackbot in plain language to build a dashboard, report, poll or slide deck from connected apps like Salesforce and Google Drive, then pin it to a channel for the team to sort, comment on and interact with directly. Basic generation is live now, with full live-data support landing in October.
