Space to do your best work. A team to make it better.

We are an independent Australian consultancy solving Salesforce, AI and integration problems for businesses that cannot afford to get them wrong. Small teams, senior people, and nobody sitting between you and the client.

Why Fluent

Big enough that the problems are interesting. Small enough that your work is visible from the top.

The work is varied. Strategy, implementation, integration, data, AI and support all sit under one roof, which means a consultant here sees a problem from first conversation through to the support ticket two years later. Very few consultancies our size can offer that, and the bigger ones won't let you near it.

Four things we hold each other to.

The principles behind how we deliver for clients live on the about page. These four are the internal half, and they're the ones that decide what a Tuesday feels like.

You own the whole problem

Nobody hands you a slice of somebody else's spec. You scope it, build it, present it, and you're still there when it goes live. That's a lot of rope, and it's the reason people stay.

Seniority is the model, not the ladder

We don't staff a pyramid of juniors under one architect and bill it as a team. Small groups of experienced people, which is why the work holds up and why you won't spend a year watching someone else do it.

Nobody is protecting a position

You can question a design, an estimate or a decision without it being a career move. The fastest way to lose standing here is to have seen a problem coming and said nothing.

We aren't measuring the hours

Distributed, flexible, and judged on whether the thing landed. That cuts both ways: we won't ask where you were on Tuesday, and we'll notice if the client is waiting.

What it's like here

The parts of a job that decide whether you like it are usually the ordinary ones.

  • Distributed, but not scattered

Brisbane is home, and we work with clients nationally, sometimes further afield. We're deliberate about the in-person part rather than sentimental about it: kick-offs, workshops and the hard conversations happen in a room, and the rest happens wherever you are.

  • In front of clients early

You'll be in the room in your first month, with someone senior beside you rather than in front of you. Nobody here spends a year shadowing, because that isn't how you learn to read a client.

  • Certifications are work, not homework

Study time sits inside your week and Fluent pays for the exam whether or not you pass it first go. The platform changes three times a year, so keeping up is part of the job rather than a favour you do us on a Sunday.

The benefits

10–30%

Of annual profits, shared

Distributed by tenure after your first two years, to employees and contractors alike. Treat it as a bonus rather than salary: it moves with the year we've had.

3pm

Friday finish

Every Friday, not just over summer. The Clubhouse opens at three for anyone who wants it, and nobody minds if you've already gone.

12 weeks

Parental leave, full pay

For the primary caregiver after a year with us, six for the secondary, and it sits on top of the government scheme rather than replacing it.

$300

Every million in revenue

A meal on the company, for you and whoever you like, each time we cross another million. No cap on how often that happens in a year.

Open roles

Where we need people

Nothing here fits?

Half our hires arrived before the role existed. Tell us what you are good at, and we will work out where it fits.

Introduce yourself

How we hire

  1. A conversation, not a screen

A phone or video call with our HR team. We'll talk through the role, the client mix and the parts of the job people find hardest.

  2. Meet the team

A couple of people you would work alongside. It's your chance to see if it feels right, and ask the questions you didn't ask on the first call.

  3. Offer, and references

We move within a week of the last conversation. References at the end, only with your say-so, and never to your current employer without asking.

The questions people ask us

If the roles don't fit but the description of the place does, get in touch anyway.
